Inside Out

Inside Out

There is no way that I can fall asleep if I hear even one tiny, unmistakeable mosquito whine in my ear, especially when I’m home in my own bed. Camping is one thing, but…

How’d that little bugger get in anyway? All my doors and windows are screened. I can’t see her in the dark well enough to send her to her maker, but I sure can hear her! Where will I wind up with a bite in the morning? Usually, its on my neck just below my ear. Drat and dagnation!

Mosquito sprays and lotions either don’t last through the night, or their residue turns my pillowcase yucky.

What to do?

Well, let’s put our list of essential oils that repel mosquitoes to work for us again. This time dig out your aromatherapy diffuser.

Get your diffuser going in your bedroom. Pick your favorite oil from our list and use that for tonight’s aromatherapy. Tonight, we need no fancy blending. Protection persistence is not a factor in our selection. We will get constant renewal from diffusing mosquito repulsing molecules into the air. There is no residue to worry about. You don’t even have to choose the most effective repellent, either.

Choose the essential oil from our list that you like the aroma of. Lavender? Lemon grass? Maybe frankincense!

You get the idea.

Now, about those still and muggy summer evenings when you’d prefer to be outside on your porch. Mosquitoes usually demand your attention there, too. More than likely, they will chase you back into your hot house. Maybe you are not on your porch on those evenings. Maybe you’re anchored on your boat? Same problem. Sucks!

Think about your essential oil diffuser, again. Why not use it here too? It works indoors to keep mosquitoes away.
You do have an outdoor power receptacle handy, right? Extension cords?

If you do not have power outlets available, there is now a cordless, rechargeable ultrasonic oil diffuser for sale on Amazon. Depending on the settings, it’ll run 3-5 hours.

You have a screened in gazebo? Sweet! Getting the right vaporized essential oils  throughout the gazebo’s space really discourages those bugs that lurk by the door looking for their next meal opportunity. Usually, they are ready to pounce through that door when its opens. It seems to happen all the time to me.

Enough said. Now you have another weapon to utilize in this season’s mosquito wars. Your diffuser can defend you indoors and out!
